1. Meeting called to order by Eleanor Mielke at 5:30 P.M., May 12,2008.
Location: Aunt Mary’s Restuarant, East State Street, Rockford, Illinois.
2. Members Present: President Eleanor Mielkie
Treasurer Mary Ann Manzullo
Secretary Linda Danielson
Frances Fiorello
3. Old Business: 1. President Eleanor Mielke unable to attend Illinois Federation of Republican Women conference
in Lyle, Illinois.
2. President Mielke did attend an event for Congressman Don Manzullo in April on behalf of NIRW.
4. New Business: 1 Motion made by Frances Fiorello to approve the April 2008 minutes, seconded by Mary Ann
Manzullo. All present approved.
2. Treasurer’s report submitted by Mary Ann Manzullo for the month of May. Motion to approve made by Eleanor
Mielke, seconded by Frances Fiorello, Approved by all present
3. Someone from this committee will continue to attend the W’lnn. Co. Republican Central Committee monthly
meetings.
5. Other Business: 1. Sympathy goes to the Family of Bob Turner, Chairman of Boone County Republican Party.
Saddness, with regard to his passing, is shared by all.
2. Eleanor Mielke will conduct a survey to assess existing members regarding their expectations and wants
concerning NIRW.
3. Mary Ann Manzullo will also be examining different surveys that can be used to assess the future needs of NIRW
members.
4. Mary Ann Manzullo also challenged all members to think of ways NIRW can assist Republican candidates in the
fall-election season. Also, create a theme for the annual December NIRW meeting/event.
5. All members present explored the possibilities of fundraising and sponsoring special events to meet the needs
of NIRW.
6. Next meeting to be held June 9, 2008.
Motion to adjourn made by Frances Fiorello, seconded by Eleanor Mielke. Approved by all present.

1. Pres. Mielke reports ‘no suggestions” from existing NIRW members when called concerning their expectations and
wants for the future of NIRW.
2. All existing NIRW members were invited to attend monthly NIRW meetings.
3. A thank-you note was received from the Bob Turner family, regarding a financial gift sent to the Keen Age Center
in Belvidere on behalf of NIRW for the late Bob Turner
4. New Business:
1. Motion made by Frances Fiorello to approve the May, 2008 minutes, seconded by Eleanor Mielke. Approved by
all present
2. Treasurer’s report submitted by Eleanor Mielke on behalf of Mary Ann Manzullo for the month of June. The
reports for May and June are the same. Motion to approve
made by Eleanor Mielke, seconded by Frances Fiorello. Approved by all present
3. Eleanor Mielke presented and distributed the Winnebago County Republican Central Committee calendar for
2008. This calendar describes up-coming events,
contact Jan Klass at 1-815-387-2874 for further information.
4. Historian Frances Fiorello will place into the NIRW history book the Thank-You card received from the Bob
Turner Family.
5. Eleanor Mielke reads a letter submitted by Mary Ann Manzullo to all present. Contents of letter include:
A. The distribution of membership cards to all who have paid for a full membership.
B. The opportunity to set up a NIRW recruitment table on Aug. 3, 2008 at an event sponsored by Tim Bivens who is
seeking election to a state senate seat in the 45 legislative district
C. Cong. Donald Manzullo has a Play Day scheduled on Wednesday, Aug 13, at Aldeen Golf Club along with dinner
at Giovanni’s.
D. There will be no July meeting for the Winnebago County Republican Central Committee. The next NIRW meeting
will be held July 14,2008.
